Dentists

All of our dentists are fully qualified and practice under strict guidelines. Each dentist continues their professional development by attending regular courses or seminars, keeping up to date with new materials, working methods and equipment.

Each dentist has their own nurse, she is there to assist the dentist with your treatment and to help put you at ease about any possible apprehension you may have whilst in surgery.

Dr Ahmet Bilginer profile

Ahmet qualified from the Royal London Hospital Dental School in Whitechapel in 1996 and has worked as a general practitioner since.
He joined Durban Dental Centre in 2008 having moved from London with his wife and two children, Ahmet now has three children, all boys! Ahmet’s particular interests are cosmetic and aesthetic dentistry and also facial aesthetic treatments, including wrinkle reduction and facial fillers.
Most recently he has applied a lot of time and effort to gain his Masters Degree in Aesthetic Dentistry at Kings College London.
He carries out all general dentistry treatments including the safe removal of amalgam, invisible orthodontics, implants, cosmetic smile enhancements, Botox and fillers.
When he’s not hard at work in the surgery, he likes to spend time with his family, travelling, reading and playing badminton.

Chris Wood profile

Chris qualified from Guys Hospital London in 1978, and has continued with post graduation courses in orthodontics and Implants. He bought Durban Dental Centre in 1980 when it was just a three-surgery practice; today it boasts seven surgeries; after a lot of refurbishments, extensions and mess! His clinical experience is wide but has a special interest in holistic dentistry, orthodontics and implants. At home, he like spending time with his family and cats, cycling, walking, gardening and tinkering with cars!

Dr Joe Perera profile

After qualifying from Guys Hospital London in 1995, Joe gained his qualification from Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons in 2000.
To continue his clinical skills, Joe took posts at Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, Basildon & Thurrock Hospital and Queen Mary Hospital Sidcup in the dept of Oral and Maxillo Facial surgery.
Joe joined Durban Dental Centre in September 2005, where he developed his clinical interest in root canal treatment and implant placements.
He has also continued his passion to deliver excellence in cosmetic dentistry, he is married to Lucy and has one daughter, with another baby due in January 2012. Joe enjoys travelling, gardening and photography in his spare time.
