Airflow® GBT Becomes Our Standard Hygiene Treatment from 16th November 2026

Over the past few months, many of you have already experienced the benefits of Airflow® Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) during your hygiene appointments. Following this introductory period, we are delighted to let you know that from Monday 16th November 2026, Airflow® GBT will become our standard approach to dental hygiene at Durban Dental Centre.
We are excited to make this advanced, comfortable approach to hygiene care a regular part of your ongoing dental health.

This is more than the traditional “scale and polish”. Airflow® GBT uses a gentle stream of warm water, air and fine powder to remove harmful bacteria and surface stains in a comfortable and precise way, helping to make your hygiene visit a more pleasant experience.
It is a modern approach to caring for your teeth and gums, with prevention at its heart.
What is biofilm, and why does it matter?
Biofilm is the layer of bacteria that constantly forms on your teeth and gums. If it is not removed effectively, it can contribute to:

What is changing from Monday 16th November 2026?
- Airflow® GBT will replace the traditional scale and polish as our standard hygiene treatment.
- It will be included as standard in every hygiene appointment.
- The fee for all hygiene appointments from this date will be £90, including appointments that are already booked.
- For our Plan patients, this treatment will be included within your monthly plan fee.
Already have a hygiene appointment booked?
Please be reassured that all existing appointments will remain in the diary. You do not need to contact us or do anything; simply attend your appointment as planned. The new £90 fee will apply to all hygiene appointments taking place on or after 16th November, including those booked before this change was announced. For Plan patients, the treatment will be covered within the monthly plan fee.
